Behind the eye lids

March 16, 2008

Our dreams lay just beyond our eye lids.  Eyes wide shut, dreaming, imagining, hoping, planning. Closing your eyes opens a world that is unknown to the rest of the world. Closing your eyes means all is possible. All behind the eye lids we find our biggest dreams and our wildest imagination.

Yellow Bird

March 12, 2008

I can’t get enough of this kid.I wish I could just post photo after photo of him, because he has a million and one expressions. He is one of those children that you can tell will be into everything, not in a bad way, in a curiosity kind of way. He already loves music and drums, and a gerbil or hamster (i’m not sure which) that keeps busy in a cage in the living room. And he clearly informs you with his eyes if he is unamused by whatever antics you are attempting to entertain him with. He (at least when I’ve been around) is tremendously mellow, which adds to the array of faces that he comes up with. I wish that every day I could be mesmerized by little yellow birds and just take the things I like, and pass up the things I don’t.

teddy

I think I’m on a kid kick with my photos. I was attempting to choose between several and decided on this one. Teddy will be famous one day. I can say that with out a doubt. When I took this photo he was hanging out at our house, and we were painting Easter Eggs, and he wanted me to take a “serious” shot of him. He’s only 5, and yet so filled with drama and the ability to freeze in a moment to appreciate it. Each time I snapped a picture he needed to see it. And he would adjust and change depending on what he thought the photo to portray. After a series of him being “funny” or “cool” he decided on serious, and well, there you have it. Serious Teddy. Sometimes I wish I were so bold as to say exactly what I want, and sometimes I wish I were so brave as to keep trying until I get the results I was looking for.
